SMITH LAKE STRIPER GUIDE

ABOUT GARY.......

 

I am a second generation striper guide and life time resident of Cullman Alabama. My father, Bruce Holcombe, started fishing for stripers in 1988 when they were just getting stocked and popular in Lewis Smith Lake.

I began helping my dad and then in 1992 started booking trips of my own. I have been fishing Smith Lake all of my life and know the lake very well.

I have won several area Tournaments on Smith Lake and clients have boated several fish over 30lbs with a 42.5lb 4ft long stripe bass caught by Client Bill Horn which held the Lake record for a few years. Typically clients can expect to at least boat 4 to 6 fish.

My boat is a 22ft center console powered by a Yamaha outboard which has plenty of room for fishing.

Through years of experience, I have learned the movement patterns of the Striped Bass in Smith Lake and the different fishing patterns used to produce many quality trips. I love striper fishing and always work hard at finding the best spots to fish to ensure you will get as many fish as possible in the boat.
